I have had terrible reliability issues with my Notion sensors. Garage door notifications would fail to appear after a day or two of usage. I would reset the devices, re-apply tasks and all would be kind of OK -- for another day or so, when they would go silent again. I had resigned myself to being a victim of early technology adoption and to write off my losses and ditch the whole system.
Then it occurred to me that I may be getting interference from other wireless technologies (ZIgby, Z-Wave) in my house. The only other similar technology I have is Philips Hue lights. Out of curiosity I changed the default channel that the Hue bridge operates on. After over a week now my Notion devices are all still happily reporting back! Fingers crossed.
One other issue I've experienced is that my garage doors are made of kind of flimsy plastic material that flexes easily. As a consequence, whenever I open the indoor access door into the garage, one of the garage doors shakes a little, enough to trigger the attached notion sensor into its flashing blue light state (much as would happen when you tap it to "wake it up"). As a result the battery rapidly drains. I have yet to find a suitable solution to this.
