Situations Where You Might Need A Second Bridge
In other articles we talk about wireless interference and how that can affect your system. If you have a lot of other smart home devices, your sensors might suffer from interference. Similar issues also occur in homes with dense construction or homes larger than 2000 square feet.
Your Notion system can easily add a second bridge to help connect your sensors. Just make sure your new bridge will be able to connect to your WiFi router wherever you intend to install it.
How To Install A Second Bridge
From the Notion App, click the sensor icon and navigate to the bridges tab. Click "Add Bridge" and follow the on-screen prompts just like how you installed your first bridge. Having issues installing your second bridge? Try some troubleshooting tips here.
How To Optimize The Location Of Either Bridge In Your System
Think of a second bridge in your system as a WiFi repeater for your sensors. Each sensor should still be able to maintain a close range with minimal obstructions. For example, if your system has five sensors, then one bridge should be central to two sensors and the other should take care of the other three sensors. Your sensors will automatically connect to whichever bridge has a stronger connection.
