Battery life is determined by the usage of the sensors and the hardware version.
- If you have second generation sensors, we expect the battery life to be about one year.
- If you have first generation sensors, our continued internal testing has shown that batteries will usually last about 3 months.
Not sure which sensors you have? Find out here.
In an effort to preserve the electronics in the sensors, we made the batteries easily replaceable without any special tools. Find out more about changing your sensor's battery here.
If you need to replace the batteries in your second generation sensors, you will have the best performance with Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA’s. You can use normal alkaline AAA’s, but you may notice a shorter battery life as a result. If you need to replace the batteries in your first generation sensors, you will need to use a CR2477N lithium coin cell..
