Notion sensors are designed to listen for the sounding alarm from your existing UL-listed smoke or CO alarms. Sensors use a small microphone to listen for a specific frequency and volume in proximity to your alarm.
This means that Notion is not actually detecting fire, smoke or carbon monoxide. This device is intended to listen for only UL-listed smoke and CO alarms that are fewer than 10 years old. Notion is not designed to replace your smoke or CO alarm.
