During normal operation, Notion sensors will not flash any colors to preserve the battery. If you see your sensor blinking, here's what the different colors mean.
Blue means that the sensor is awake and searching for a bridge. The sensor will flash blue a few times until it finds a bridge.
If your sensor has been set up for a while and you see it start to flash blue repeatedly, that means the sensor is not staying connected on its own. Try a few troubleshooting steps here.
Green means that the sensor has connected to the bridge. After you see the LED flash green the sensor will not blink again.
Red can mean one of two things:
- After the sensor wakes up (and flashes blue) it might flash red to indicate that it couldn't find a bridge. The sensor will automatically search for the bridge again, so you should see a blue LED soon after it flashes red the first time.
- If the sensor is continuously flashing red, that means the sensor is updating its firmware. The sensor should return to normal soon. If the sensor does not stop flashing red, contact support for assistance.
