If you haven't already heard, Notion is capable of many different functions all through one single sensor. If home security is your primary concern, Notion will provide you with the flexibility that you need without the complexity of picking the right type of sensor for each different type of door.
Notion is more than a simple home-security system. The sensors can provide complete home awareness in a host of different environments, but when you're worried about people getting into your house, Notion can be implemented in a number of different ways. For the sensor to accurately detect when your doors and windows open and close, the sensor needs to feel the motion in the door. This means that each entrance to your home theoretically requires its own sensor. This isn't all that hard to accomplish if you live in an apartment with only a front door, but what if you live in a large home with many different doors and windows?
At this point it's up to you. It might be wise to install a sensor on every point where someone could get into your house, but that's not always a reasonable option. Perhaps you don't need a sensor on the side door that always stays locked. Or if you know that the back door is not very sturdy but you're confident in the rest, then one sensor on the back door might suffice. Or realistically, the front door, back door and garage are the main entrances to your home and a sensor at each door gives you plenty of security and awareness about your home.
Whatever you decide, the layout is up to you. And the best part is if you decide to move a sensor to account for something you hadn't previously considered, Notion can still accomplish everything with only one type of sensor.
